Opportunities and Resources NIAID seeks to support the identification and development of candidate vaccines and immunoprophylactics against multiple select Gram-negative nosocomial pathogens. A key step forward in our defense against antimicrobial-resistant bacteria is developing culture-independent, rapid, sensitive, specific medical diagnostics that identify select pathogens and determine their antimicrobial susceptibility and resistance. NIAID seeks innovative imaging strategies to identify reservoirs in human or animal models that have undergone successful, long-term viral suppression. In The News If you missed the June 5, 2017 meeting of NIAID's advisory Council, you can watch a videocast of remarks from NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, NIAID Vaccine Research Center Director Dr. John Mascola, and NIH Principal Deputy Director Dr. Lawrence Tabak, as well as open subcommittee sessions.
