What to Know When Buying or Using a Breast Pump

Breast pumps are medical devices regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. They can be used to extract milk, maintain or increase a woman's milk supply, and relieve engorged breasts (among other uses). But, to protect mothers and their babies, there are important safety considerations to know before using one.
