This image was created in October, 2014, by CDC, Epidemiologist, Mary Alleman, M.P.H., Ph.D., during an outbreak of wild poliovirus in the Central African nation of Cameroon, in the city of Ebolowa, in the South Region of Cameroon. The photograph depicts the screen of a mobile telephone, which displayed a French SMS-based "ALERTESANTE", or in English, "Health Alert", message, which was produced through a collaborative effort made by polio eradication partners in Cameroon.

This image depicts a metal colander filled with freshly-washed spinach leaves, which were now ready to be eaten raw in a delicious salad, or cooked into a stir-fry dish. In addition to being tasty, spinach's popularity stems from its high nutritional value. Spinach is low in calories, and a good source of essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and folic acid, or folate, which is an important vitamin involved in proper neural tube formation in a pregnant woman's developing fetus.

Captured inside the National Polio Laboratory located in Ibadan, the capital city of the Oyo State of Nigeria, this image depicts activities taking place during a training course on Intra-typic differentiation (ITD) methods for the detection of Polio viruses in support of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Polio Eradication Initiative. At this point in the course, Dr. Bola Ajuwan, was demonstrating enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) techniques to other staff members.

McCree, this image depicts a mother and her three children, who'd been observed during Leslie's deployment to the township of West Point, in the capital city of Monrovia, Liberia. A closer view of the young girl on the right can be seen in PHIL 20986.

Photographed during the summer of 2005, this image was captured on the grounds of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Pittsburgh Research Laboratory (PRL), by Senior Scientist, Richard Mainiero, Ph.D., and depicts a NIOSH engineer and student, Marcia Harris and Nythia Rodriguez, in the process of conducting analyses of carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations near mock blasting sites.
