Hello again Madagascar!

Roughly 9,000 people (including family members and caregivers) came to the Mercy Ships site in Antananarivo during the first three weeks of patient screening for our second year of service in Madagascar. That's one city down, ten to go! Our Screening Team will continue preparations for upcoming screenings across the country before next moving to Taolagnaro in September.

We're thankful for our Screening Team, and for the patience of the people waiting in line.

Dyllan's Potential

When we first met nine-year-old Dyllan, he kept his head down most of the time. Nurses would only see a glimpse of a smile, a shy glimpse in their direction.

It’s a miracle Dyllan’s still alive. When Dyllan was three, a gust of wind knocked a pot of boiling water onto Dyllan. The pain and screams were horrifying. His grandmother, Augustine, says, “I was terrified that Dyllan might die because of the burns.”

Now, you can usually hear Dyllan before you see him, giggling and yelling our volunteers’ names before running away.

Read Dyllan's full story of hope and healing in our August newsletter >>
