Traumatic Brain Injury Program Moving to ACL

Today, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that the administration of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program is being transferred from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to ACL, effective October 1, 2015. The TBI Program, which includes two components, will join ACL's Administration on Disabilities. The State Implementation Program, which provides funding to develop or enhance community-based services to those at risk for or impacted by TBI, will join the Independent Living Administration. The Protection and Advocacy Grants Program, which provides training, advocacy, legal consultation to individuals with TBI will join the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

HRSA and ACL are working closely to ensure a smooth transition of the program. All current program and grant operations will continue to be administered by HRSA until the current grant cycle has ended.
