| | May 19, 2015 No Wrong Door means improved access to services No Wrong Door (NWD) Systems allow states to provide long term services and supports through visible, trusted and coordinated access points. Such systems make it easy for people of all ages, disabilities and income levels to learn about and obtain home and community based services. People using services at home often need more than one type of service, many of which are supported by a combination of private resources as well as different federal, state or local programs. No Wrong Door Systems provide access to services through a "one-stop-shop" approach, replacing a myriad of eligibility forms and processes. NWD Systems streamline eligibility processes and seek to find the best mix of services and supports based on an individual's needs and circumstances. The Administration for Community Living (ACL), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) are sponsoring the award of up to six cooperative agreements for a total of up to $4.2 million. Eligible applicants must be from one of the 25 states which received a 2014 Transforming State LTSS Access Programs and Functions into A No Wrong Door System for All Populations and All Payers grant. Applicants must be a state entity and only one application can be submitted per state. The Office of the Governor must designate the state entity to be involved in the development and implementation of its NWD System. An informational conference call will be held on 05/27/2015.
