This picture shows the photographer's 6-month old baby girl, Sophia, getting her oral rotavirus vaccine (RV). Recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), Sophia was receiving this vaccination, as per its scheduled administration.

This is a "Carolina pygmy" rattlesnake, Sistrurus miliaris miliaris, the most distinctly patterned, and variably colored subspecie of the pygmy rattlesnake group, ranging from eastern North Carolina, southwestward through most of South Carolina, across central Georgia and Alabama, and into a small portion of east central Mississippi, placing it in hurricane-prone areas, which is of importance to those living in these regions, and first-responders to weather-related disasters.

Under the low-power magnification of a digital Keyence scope , this photograph depicts the colonial growth displayed by Gram-negative Yersinia pestis bacteria, which were cultured on a sheep blood agar (SBA) medium, for a 120 hour (5 day) time period, at a temperature of 37 degrees C.

This group of school children were seated in the lunchroom of a metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia primary school taking their daily lunch break during their school day activities. Seated in the foreground was a smiling young Asian-American girl holding up her dessert in a plastic container, which consisted of green grapes, and what appeared to be small, bright orange kumquats, which she was about to enjoy, as a terrific nutritious ending to her well-balanced meal.
