Research studies and clinical trials help us understand more about aging and diseases that affect older adults. To find answers, researchers need the help of many people—both healthy and living with diseases—of diverse age, sex, race, and ethnic backgrounds to participate in all types of research studies, from health surveys to clinical trials.

Help spread a message about healthy aging and research participation. NIA, in collaboration with the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), has developed a Recruiting Older Adults into Research (ROAR) toolkit of easy-to-use, customizable materials to offer information about:

  • Why research is important to healthy aging
  • What volunteers need to know about research studies
  • How older adults can make a difference for themselves and future generations by participating
  • Easy steps to take to learn about research participation opportunities

Download the ROAR Toolkit today. It includes a user guide, presentation slides, and promotional flyers.  Feel free to customize the materials with local information and for the needs of your audience.
